Founder, Studio Guapo at Studio Guapo

Founder of Studio Guapo, an independent furniture and object-design practice run out of Manhattan's Lower East Side since 2020. Pecina's DIY, mixed-media approach blends streetwear and skate culture with furniture design, reclaimed materials, and 3D-printed components -- best known for the exposed-bolt Guapo Rocker V1. He came to design from a background in window display and set/prop styling. Pecina developed the Rocker from a full-scale cardboard prototype with engineer Joey Swerdlin, and has collaborated with Heron Preston on a remix of Enzo Mari's Sedia 1 chair built from reclaimed vintage hockey sticks. He cofounded the design collective Pink Essay with David Eardley and curated the exhibition WEAR YOUR CHAIR, exploring intersections of streetwear and furniture. In 2025 he was named to Dwell magazine's "Dwell 24" list of emerging designers.
