Melanie Freundlich is the founding principal of Melanie Freundlich Lighting Design, an architectural lighting studio she established in Manhattan's Garment District in 1997 after roughly a decade at Fisher Marantz Renfro Stone and earlier theater-lighting work in Boston. The practice designs lighting for academic, cultural, residential, and workplace projects. Freundlich holds an MFA in architectural lighting design from Parsons and a BA in theater production from Wesleyan University.
