Michiru Tanaka

Michiru Tanaka is the founder of Michiru Tanaka Lighting Design (Michiru Tanaka Inc.), an architectural lighting studio she established in 2009 and operates from Brooklyn's DUMBO neighborhood. A 2002 graduate of Musashino Art University in Tokyo, she designs lighting for residential, hospitality, and exhibition projects and has developed lighting products including the KUMIKO OLED fixture. Tanaka has taught as an adjunct professor of interior design at the Fashion Institute of Technology and Pratt Institute.
