Furniture DesignerCollectible DesignCustom FurnitureArtist & Designer at Love House
Denver, Colorado-based artist who transforms construction and domestic-labor materials -- spackling paste, plaster, and Roman clay -- into richly textured wall reliefs, pedestals, and sculptural furniture. A first-generation Mexican American raised in Dallas by parents from Jalisco, Mexico, Curiel draws on childhood memories of accompanying her parents to construction and cleaning jobs. She holds a BFA from the University of Kansas (2021) and works her signature plaster with a trowel directly on the floor. Her La Mari Chair, an oak-and-steel piece in an edition of four inspired by mariachi vestments and her father's mariachi music, entered the Denver Art Museum's Architecture and Design collection in 2025. She is represented in New York by Love House gallery.
