Paa Joe (b. 1947) is a Ghanaian sculptor and second-generation fantasy coffin maker based in Pobiman, outside Accra, where he carves figurative coffins — abeduu adeka — representing the trades and passions of the deceased, from an eagle for a chief to a sardine for a fisherman. His work is held in the British Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and he mounted his New York solo debut, Celestial City, at Superhouse gallery in 2024.
