Shane Gabier

New York-based designer working in ceramics from a shared studio at Sculpture Space NYC in Queens, and living on the Lower East Side. A former co-founder of the fashion label Creatures of the Wind, Gabier turned to clay during the pandemic and hand-builds functional pieces — trays, vases, bookends, sconces, and tile — with hand-painted checkerboard patterns informed by Modernist design, 1970s psychedelia, and Brutalist architecture.
