Stan Allen

Stan Allen is a New York-based architect who established his independent practice in 1991 after working for Richard Meier and Rafael Moneo. He holds degrees from Brown University, The Cooper Union, and Princeton University, and has taught at Harvard, Columbia, and Princeton, serving as Dean of Princeton's School of Architecture from 2002 to 2012. His studio, now based in the Hudson River Valley, focuses on projects for artist clients engaging directly with the natural landscape. He received the Academy Award in Architecture from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2009 and multiple AIA Awards, and has authored numerous architectural essays and monographs, serving as series editor for publications on SANAA, Luis Mansilla, David Adjaye, and Toyo Ito.
