Tom Loeser

Madison, Wisconsin-based furniture artist making one-of-a-kind carved and painted "functional and dysfunctional" objects that draw on design, craft, and decorative-arts history. Headed the wood/furniture program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1991 to 2020 and has received four National Endowment for the Arts Visual Artist Fellowships. Work is held in the Brooklyn Museum, Cooper Hewitt, and Yale University Art Gallery collections; currently represented in New York by Superhouse.
