This Poster House exhibition presents Soviet anti-alcohol propaganda posters from the late 1980s, produced during Mikhail Gorbachev's campaign against widespread alcoholism through messaging tied to health, morality, and workforce productivity. Curator B.A. Van Sise, a photographer and author who studies visual language, organized works by designers including Sergei Bulkin and E. Mikheeva, I. Volnova, and V. Vasiliev. The campaign the posters promoted ultimately failed to curb Soviet drinking.
