About
Run in partnership with the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District, the tour traces roughly 150 years of architecture in the East 60s and 70s, from 1870s and 1880s brownstones to Beaux-Arts townhouses by McKim, Mead & White, Carrère & Hastings, and Ernest Flagg, to luxury apartment houses by Rosario Candela and Emery Roth. It focuses on how many of these historic residential buildings have since been converted into flagship stores for high-fashion retailers.
