Walking Tour: The Architecture of East 42nd Street
Sat, Aug 1, 2026 · 10:30 AM ET
About
The route covers the roughly seven-block corridor of East 42nd Street between the East River and Grand Central Terminal, tracing its shift from an industrial strip of slaughterhouses to a concentration of 1930s landmarks including Tudor City, the Daily News Building, and the Chrysler Building. Later stops take in the United Nations complex, the Ford Foundation building, and newer additions such as One Vanderbilt and Grand Central Madison.
