The walk moves through Murray Hill, Rose Hill, Flatiron, and NoMad along Park Avenue and Park Avenue South (once Fourth Avenue), pairing 19th-century work by McKim, White, and Renwick with early-20th-century buildings by Cass Gilbert and contemporary additions by firms including Renzo Piano, Michael Graves, and Pelli Clarke Pelli. Along the way the guide addresses zoning history, the Manhattan grid, privately owned public plazas, and the corridor's mix of Class A and Class B office stock.
