Brooklyn Navy Yard custom framing studio founded in 2008 by Clint Downing, producing handcrafted and conservation-grade frames for galleries, museums, and auction houses including Gagosian, MoMA, and Sotheby's. Downing previously worked as Director of Framing at Axelle Fine Arts and Head Frame Maker at City Frame. Operating from Building 303 at the Navy Yard, the studio's client list has expanded to include David Zwirner, Pace Gallery, Hauser & Wirth, the Whitney Museum, the Guggenheim, the Smithsonian, Christie's, and Phillips, along with artists such as Robert Longo, David LaChapelle, and Lorna Simpson. Beyond fabrication, Downing Frames offers conservation framing, custom finishes, and art handling and installation services.
