Ishida Architects

Ishida Architects is the New York practice of Aki Ishida, a licensed architect (NY) and LEED Accredited Professional who founded the firm after working at James Carpenter Design Associates, I.M. Pei Architect, and Rafael Vinoly Architects. The studio's work has included the Hanegi shrine office and installations such as Lantern Field at the Smithsonian's Freer Gallery, which won a 2013 Architectural Lighting Design Award. Ishida holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University, and later became a professor and college director at Washington University in St. Louis.
