Light + Ladder

Lighting MakerEst. 2011

Light + Ladder is a Brooklyn lighting, furniture, and ceramics studio founded by RISD-trained designer Farrah Sit in 2011 and based in a Williamsburg/Greenpoint waterfront loft. Sit creates nature-inspired planters, vases, lamps, and lighting fixtures in ceramic and brass, produced in small batches at partner facilities in Vermont and New York. Sit studied industrial design at RISD and worked for architect Michael Graves and as a tabletop designer at Calvin Klein Home before starting her own practice around 2009. Her ceramic Serpentine sconce, which debuted at Sight Unseen Offsite in 2020 and grew out of a Hathor-collection collaboration with TRNK exploring ancient Egyptian forms, became one of the studio's best-selling pieces.
