In 1999, two young women architects, Anne Marie Lubrano and Lea Ciavarra, established lubrano ciavarra architects, pllc (formerly lubrano ciavarra design, llc) as a full-service Architecture and Design Firm. In addition to Basic Architectural Services, they have considerable experience in Pre-Design and Feasibility Studies, Programming, Signage and Graphic Design, Web-Site Design, 3D Rendering, and Furniture and Material Palette Selection. All of these services are performed in-house by the talented architects and designers who currently make up the office. From the start, lubrano ciavarra has approached each endeavor with extreme attention to detail, never missing a deadline. Early in its history, the firm achieved recognition when it was selected as the Open Phase Winner and placed second in Phase Two of the International Chicago Public Schools Design Competition: Big shoulders Small Schools. This submission for a 100,000sf new elementary school on the North Side of Chicago with a maximum budget of $100/SF honed the firm’s skills in working with local community, school, and parent Boards to create a clear, innovative and wholly feasible ADA-compliant building.
