Saint Malo Designs

New York studio, founded in March 2025 by Kat and Jess, hand-upholstering fabric-wrapped picture frames to order in customer-chosen fabrics and sizes, with lampshades produced through design collaborations. The concept began as a one-off project when Kat made a custom fabric-covered frame for a family member's first New York apartment; demand from friends led the pair to open an Etsy shop and then the current studio. The studio also runs frame-making workshops for private parties and events around the city, in which guests choose their fabric and frame size in advance and then assemble their own frame on site; past events have included weddings and a press dinner. Saint Malo Designs' lampshades are sold through a collaboration with Lampologie, and the studio also has a retail presence through The Blended Bungalow, a home-goods shop in Alabama.
