Sandy Smith Studio

Bushwick, Brooklyn fine-art fabrication studio founded by Sandy Smith in 2014, working from a 4,500-square-foot shop to build sculpture, display structures, lightboxes, and experimental installations for artists, galleries, and museums. Capabilities include woodworking, CNC milling, welding and metal forming in steel, brass, bronze, and aluminum, casting, and laser/waterjet cutting, along with work in unconventional materials such as foam, plastics, and fabric. The studio's client list includes galleries such as Gagosian, Hauser & Wirth, Petzel, James Cohan, and Lisson Gallery, museums including MoMA and the Whitney Museum of American Art, and artists such as Anicka Yi, James Turrell, Tauba Auerbach, and Hugh Hayden.
