Studio Proba

Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary design studio founded in 2013 by German-American designer Alex Proba, who also maintains a studio office in Portland, Oregon. Produces hand-knotted and hand-tufted rug collections in partnership with manufacturers including Roll & Hill and CC-Tapis, alongside furniture, home objects, and graphic and art-direction work under the Proba Home and Studio Proba names. Grew out of Proba's ongoing A Poster A Day art project. Proba worked as an in-house art director for Nike until 2018 before committing fully to her own practice, and the studio has since produced branding, product, and large-scale mural work for clients including Louis Vuitton, Samsung, and hotel operator Standard International, including ceiling murals at The Manner hotel in SoHo.
