Trueing

Trueing is a Brooklyn lighting and furniture design studio founded by Josh Metersky and Aiden Bowman, formalized around their debut piece, Janus, a brass-armature table lamp with a pivoting dichroic-glass disc. Metersky, a mechanical engineer trained at Tufts University, previously developed fixtures for lighting designers Ladies & Gentlemen Studio and Bec Brittain, while Bowman studied art history at St Andrews and worked in communications for the architecture firms BIG and wHY. The studio hand-fabricates fixtures and furniture from worked metal and glass, including the Cerine lighting series of oversized glass chain-link connectors, the Elma chandelier collection, and the Lescaze chair, which references architect William Lescaze, and has won the ICFF Editor's Award for Emerging Designer and a spot on Sight Unseen's American Design Hotlist.
