Brendan Coburn

Brendan Coburn, FAIA, is a partner and the founder of The Brooklyn Studio, an architecture and interior design firm in Dumbo that he established in 1997 and has grown into a studio of more than twenty architects, interior designers, and creatives. Before founding the firm, he worked at Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, Rafael Vinoly Architects, and Kallmann McKinnell & Wood. His work spans historic preservation, adaptive reuse, new construction, and cultural facilities, with a focus on New York City's landmark districts. Coburn was elected to the AIA College of Fellows in 2020, holds a BS in Architecture from the University of Virginia (1989) and a Master of Architecture from Yale University (1994), and serves on the boards of the Historic Districts Council and the Dodge YMCA.
