Deborah Gans

Deborah Gans, FAIA, is Principal Architect of Gans Studio in Brooklyn, a practice she leads that explores how architecture and technology contribute to new social forms, including work on disaster relief and post-disaster housing following Hurricane Katrina and Superstorm Sandy. The studio has been designated a NYC Department of Design and Construction "Design Excellence" firm, and her work has been exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum, the 2008 Venice Biennale, and the Museum of the City of New York, with writing published in Architectural Record and The New York Times. Her portfolio includes the patented WORKBOX school desk, now in the New York Historical Society's permanent collection.
