William Sharples
ArchitectFounding Principal at SHoP Architects
William Sharples is a Founding Principal of SHoP Architects, established in 1996 with his twin brother Christopher Sharples, his wife Coren Sharples, Kimberly Holden, and Gregg Pasquarelli. Trained originally in architectural engineering, he has led projects including Manhattan's East River Waterfront, the Botswana Innovation Hub, Collins Arch in Melbourne, Atlassian's Sydney headquarters, and the Hudson's Site redevelopment in Detroit, along with U.S. State Department diplomatic facilities. In 2018 he cofounded Assembly OSM, focused on offsite-manufactured high-rise housing. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Penn State and a Master of Architecture from Columbia University.
