Walking Tour: Historic Buildings and New Interventions in SoHo

Guided by an AIANY docent, the walk examines how the SoHo-Cast Iron Historic District's mid-19th-century commercial buildings sit alongside later infill the Landmarks Preservation Commission has approved as compatible with the district, including the Scholastic Building by Aldo Rossi, 40 Mercer by Jean Nouvel, 529 Broadway by BKSK, and 27 Wooster by KPF. Stops also take in the cast-iron-fronted Haughwout Building and the Judd Foundation's restored 101 Spring Street.
