Sunset Park furniture workshop making custom fine furniture and built-in cabinetry for homeowners, decorators, and interior designers. Led by second-generation woodworker Matthew Benjamin Steel, who trained under his father in Yorkshire, England before relocating his practice to Brooklyn's Industry City complex. Steel grew up in the Yorkshire Dales, apprenticing summers in his father's workshop before pursuing music professionally, touring with the bands Your Vegas and The Chevin and appearing on major television programs; he began building furniture for interior decorators during breaks from touring and transitioned to cabinetmaking full time after his music career wound down. His work, produced from Building 5 at Industry City, has included commissions for decorator Nick Olsen and has been featured in Architectural Digest.
