Map Design Studio

Map Design Studio is an architectural lighting design firm with offices in Manhattan's Nolita neighborhood and Miami Beach, founded in 2020 by principal Artemis Papadatou. The studio develops lighting concepts through construction support for hospitality, restaurant, residential, retail, and cultural projects, including the David Zwirner gallery office and Magazzino Italian Art. Papadatou, who was born in Athens, Greece, holds a master's degree in architectural engineering from Democritus University of Thrace and a master of science in advanced architectural design from Columbia University. The firm's David Zwirner headquarters project won a LIT Design Award for workplace lighting in 2023 and an IESNYC Lumen Award of Merit in 2024, and its Lighthouse project in Venice, California received a 2025 LIT Design Award.
