Lighting design and manufacturing brand founded in 2007 by RISD graduates Theo Richardson, Charles Brill, and Alexander Williams, who began as Rich Brilliant Willing in a basement studio on Manhattan's Lower East Side. RBW designs and builds LED fixtures for hospitality, workplace, and residential projects, maintaining a flagship showroom in Manhattan's Tribeca neighborhood while manufacturing now operates out of a 100,000-square-foot facility in a former IBM building outside Kingston, New York, which opened in 2022. The studio relocated from Manhattan to Gowanus, Brooklyn in 2013 before expanding to Industry City in 2016. In 2024, after seventeen years, Alexander Williams stepped back as part owner while Richardson and Brill continued to lead the company.
