SBLD Studio

Architectural lighting design firm founded in 1994 by Susan Brady, a Parsons-trained designer, and now led by president Bruce Taylor, who joined the firm as an intern and became partner in 2022. The minority-owned (MBE-certified) practice, with staff based in New York and New Jersey, designs lighting for corporate offices, law firms, academic institutions, healthcare facilities, performance venues, retail, and exterior/landscape settings. Notable projects include the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens and the Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas. The firm's work has received Illuminating Engineering Society Lumen Awards and International Illumination Design Awards, along with an IIDA Guth Award and a Washington Building Congress Craftsmanship Award for its design of Arnold & Porter's offices.
