Co-Founder, Egg Collective at Egg Collective

Brooklyn-based furniture designer and co-founder of Egg Collective, a design studio she started with Stephanie Beamer and Hillary Petrie in 2012. Egg Collective produces handcrafted seating, tables, casegoods, lighting, and objects from a Tribeca gallery and a Brooklyn Navy Yard workshop, with most pieces available in customized materials. Ellis met her co-founders as architecture freshmen at Washington University in St. Louis and later earned an MFA in sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design before the trio debuted their first collection at ICFF in 2012, winning a Best New Designer award. Within two years the studio was named to Forbes's 30 Under 30 and received a Martha Stewart American Made award; the group works in wood, leather, metal, glass, cork, stone, and textiles, all manufactured across New York City's five boroughs.
