Francesca DiMattio

Brooklyn (Dumbo)-based artist working primarily in large-scale ceramic sculpture, building multi-part hand-formed and hand-glazed pieces that combine references to historical porcelain, architecture, and decorative arts. Trained at Cooper Union (BFA, 2003) and Columbia University School of the Arts (MFA, 2005), DiMattio explores craft and decorative-arts traditions through a feminist lens. Her sculptural, functional-adjacent objects are represented for design collecting by R & Company gallery in Manhattan.
