Architecture FirmRichard McElhiney Architects LLC was founded in 2002 by Richard McElhiney, AIA, who has practiced architecture in New York for more than 40 years. He holds a BA cum laude from Yale College and a Master of Architecture from Yale School of Architecture, and worked for 19 years at Kliment Halsband Architects, becoming a partner in 1997. The Manhattan-based firm concentrates on civic and institutional buildings and renovations, alongside workplace and residential design, with roughly 65 educational, 34 civic, and 30 historic renovation projects and more than 30 design awards. McElhiney is licensed in New York and New Jersey, a visiting critic at Columbia University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and co-author of the AIA's Architect's Handbook of Professional Practice (13th edition).
