Colony

Tribeca design cooperative and showroom founded in 2014 by Jean Lin, representing more than twenty independent American furniture, lighting, textile, and object designers, including Fort Standard, Bec Brittain, Grain, and Allied Maker. Colony operates a permanent Manhattan showroom for trade and retail clients and has since expanded into architecture and design-residency programming. Lin, who previously co-founded the post-Hurricane Sandy community initiative Reclaim NYC, moved Colony from its original Canal Street loft to a Tribeca storefront after a decade in the earlier space. In 2024 she launched the Colony Residency, an eight-month incubator that gives emerging designers studio space and business mentorship without co-op fees.
